Hello world! I feel a little vain creating a “My Story” page and am wondering if readers are actually as interested in knowing about me as I am about sharing it. I’m happy to call this page “OUR Story” though. I like that this isn’t only my story – there are countless numbers of friends, family, strangers, and distant relations that are part of the journey too. I would not be where I am without them, and for that I am thankful. It must’ve been incredibly lonely carrying the One Ring… I’m grateful that I have more than a fellowship of support behind me. THANK YOU everyone! I feel like Gollum calling this page our (precious) story. Here’s a brief rugby history:
- I started playing rugby in the fall of 2008 as a freshman at Brown University
- Played mostly at fullback, but moved around in all positions from 2, 6-15.
- I studied engineering in college but majored in rugby :)
- Graduated in 2012 and sustained 2 successive concussions around that time
- I read this article about becoming a referee
- I was also an assistant coach at Brown (2012-2013)
- NERRS, New England Rugby Referee Society
- I’m driven by my aspirations to become an iRB panel referee and officiate at the Olympics!
- Along the way I’ve discovered how much fun it is
- Meeting people in the community is very humanizing and makes me feel alive!
- I was awarded the Don Morrison Scholarship in 2014 and from mid-March to mid-May I had the great privilege of training at the Maties Referee Academy in Stellenbosch, South Africa!!!!!

- My favorite rugby memory is the week my team spent touring Scotland during spring break in my final year of college
